More than 350 people rallied Thursday, April 6, 2006 outside the St. Paul Pioneer Press to show their support for Minnesota’s oldest newspaper as McClatchy Co. prepares to sell it.
“The Pioneer Press is as important to St. Paul as the Mississippi River,’’ said St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, whose brother and step mother once worked at the Pioneer Press.
